Thursday night we spent one hour in the City Center's parking in a traffic jam - the line of was totally stopped -there was no way out neither to return to the parking area .

Does anybody know what was going on ?

I do understand very much what you  mean . I come from an area from Europe where riding a bike is the norm .Even in winter .

Check behind the Urban Planning Dev Authority bldg opposite to City Center.

There would be enough parking even on weekends..

Its just a walkable distance to City Center then.

CityCentre R/A will be jammed 18hrs a day, 7 days a week...from the day those skyscrappers are commissioned.

CityCentre will become a joke from next year onwards.....

I try to be very carefull as much as I can and I wear the right protective gear.Don't worry, I received a heavy training in Cairo and Rome for several years.

Do you think that people will ever realize that the right practical solutions are in small cars, light transportation and car pooling instead of huge, flashy and useless SUV's?

Becareful out there with your bike, its hardly safe enough to be in a car on the roads, bikes are very handy but you are also very exposed...

The solution is to get a motorcycle or a scooter.

I bought a city bike, agile, light and with enough power to get you anywhere in Doha within the speed limits and safety measures of course.

Believe me guys, it changed my life. Since I got it, traffic for me doesn't exist, parking is not a problem and traffic lights never makes me stop more than once. It's a great feling of freedom and it doesn't contribute to pollution like SUV's.

I know you'll say that here it's hot etc... but Qatar has got a great weather for bikes for 8 months a year compared to Europe which is 4 months!

Ciao.
