No Warranty on New Goods
Has anyone else experienced the fact that electrical items sold at many shops here are sold with zero or only one month warranty? Apparently, its the norm here, according to the shop people I spoke to!
I wanted to get my daughter a Nintendo DSi XL and none of the shops that stocked it (Soquor, Technical Care Centre, Virgin) were able to offer anything more than a one month warranty?
If I am spending QAR 1,000 I want to have some peace of mind I can get it replaced if faulty?

They know that they cannot service the goods, that's why they don't give the manufacturer's warranties. That applies to loudspeakers or hard disks, for example. Most manufacturers' warranties are five (!) years on these items, but not in Qatar!!
In my experience most reputable stores offer a 1 year warranty, as ali.30 says Carrefour would be your best bet, they can also offer extended warranties for a bit extra.
Carrefour is the way to go !!!
they have better warranties
