new coffee shop opening..
any ex-pats who miss their favourite pepermint crisp tart or a home-made malva pudding?

we would like to know everyones favourite cakes and sweet delites.
The idea is to bring your long lost delicious comfort food to Doha. Their are some cakes here who just dont cut it. We will be testing and researching the perfect recipes to satisfy your taste buds.

I know a number of people have requested a decent bran muffin as there are none here and banana loaf.
any other ideas please post them as you will be adding to the success of the coffee shop

Thanx every one

low on style...BIG on substance please...there are like, what a gazillion 'cafes' in this city...all serving the same expensive, mediocre tasting cup o' java & ok or bad pastry slices, muffins, sandwiches etc. @ ridiculous prices...i don't mind the prices but it should be value for money, which it definitely isn't out here, weather it's starsucks or rubbish costa...hope your venture will make that difference...good luck :)...freshly made sandwiches would be a real treat thanks :)...

As long as it isn't StarSucks!

I bought what I thought was "cheesecake" and was very disappointed. I haven't seen any chocolate chip muffins or cheese muffins. Ohhh, lemon poppy seed!
