You can check http://www.qatarusedbooks.wordpress.com. They advertise your used books on the website, or you can simply donate it. They just opened a facebook page http://www.facebook.com/UsedBookStoreQatar in which there going to be a community of people interested in book swapping, opening a book club etc.
The book store has not opened yet however, they should be sometime this month. At least that is what they told me in an e-mail responce I got from them.
Okay. Has anyone been to this "I SPY BOOKSHOP"? I'm an avid reader, I would like to know if they have more novels than Jarir and also the price range. Any information will be highly appreciated.
It's not a lie. I went there TWICE to see for myself and unless my eyes were playing tricks on me its true there is a bookstore currently in the works under that name. It says so on the display window on this notice paper, the shop is located on the 3rd floor behind X-po center. Go see for urself if u don't believe me.
I am still curious, where did this "I SPY BOOKSHOP" go, and still curious, WHY people need to invent this kind of stories stories and insist on them being true? Any shrink online?
I SPY BOOKSHOP "I confirm the book store the place is almost finished and will be up and running before ened of November u can confirm with the city center managment"
We are in December, what you would be confirming now, Ms. Bookshop? Too sure we were, weren't we?
Gud pm, sorry for the wrong infos. I went and check myself hyperlulu but its probably just a pure rumours. I asked fellow pinays staff, some said not sure but they heard it too and the rest said no there's nothing. So, its a false alarm he he.
As I told you, no worries. The problem is not shopping, the problem is level of b@#$%t on this forum, and I definitely wish you good luck. If you will manage to open and stay in business longer than your predcessors (there was a bookstore on almost the same place before), you have all my respect.

Easy instructions to find I Spy - Third floor, shop Green 17 on the site map - Walk down between Cafe de Paris and Nokia. It will be on the right hand side just past the sport clothing store. If you go to the second floor - it is above Starbucks, take the escalator beside the rug display. The shop faces the escalator up to the womens only part. Opening date will be confirmed shortly.
marcyfrost: I see no reason why should we waste the time and ring City Centre management up. When and if there will be a bookstore, we will go there. The store should be after the potential customers, and not customers after the store.
From my experience (and not only in the Middle East), one can say it is there, only when it is there and not "putting finishing touches". Until the store is opened it is all RUMOURS. Btw. same about Magrudys. There are lots of cases when UAE based companies were announcing ther expansion, and 3-4 years after the official announcement still nothing was happening.
Please visit the 3rd floor of City Centre, and you will see the new bookshop putting finishing touches. The name of it is "I SPY BOOK SHOP".
The opening will be at the end of this month. The delay was due to unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately that is normal in Middle East I have seen it a lot in my 37 years in mid east
I suggest before you start saying things you have no idea about, ring City Centre management, who will, if you ask really nicely will give you exact location and approximate opening date.
You should live in Dubai, they have everything there. Magrudys, Borders, pork, ikea, really everything you miss!!!! Even Harvey Niks Jealous!!!!
Ok, ok, I'm there. maybe ur right, but I promise tomorrow I'm going there to buy some groceries and I'll passby to check it just for u and if my fellows is just pulling my leg, Grrrrrr (I'll tell u later what I'll do for them)
Apple, that's my point. You DON'T eat pork, and they DON'T sell it at Lulu. There is no section for non-muslims, and I believe your fellows were just pulling your leg. Not that I would buy any meat at Lulu at all...
Sorry Terra I don't eat pork FYI. It's not absolutely for me only, I gave u this infos coz some fellows just recently bought it fr there. But anyway, to see is to believe. Better check it out.
I will, Apple, I will. I will buy half kilo of pork in Lulu, then I will stop by to have a look at new books at Magrudy's, then I will go to IKEA to check out their new catalog, wile my wife is selecting CDs at Virgin Megastore in Villagio and at the end of the day we will watch sunset sitting in Al Bander, sharing a bottle of red wine. Thank you, my friend. It definitely feels better now. Good stuff, man, good stuff.
..."Last Night you called her a b***h, Slept with her best friend and left the toilet seat up.... make it all up to her with trinkets using the NEW b*****dcard.."
You have definitely mistaken me for one of your countrymen... shit, I should add more grammar and spelling mistakes.
..."Last Night you called her a b***h, Slept with her best friend and left the toilet seat up.... make it all up to her with trinkets using the NEW b*****dcard.."
Princess... I have not been confirming anything anywhere :) And since I am in a really nasty mood today, let me tell you that confirmations of Mr.U-NOW-HU were broadcasted all over the world, and what you saw and where and on whom is your personal matter.
Stop confirming. You are not the first one not the last one. If there is a bookstore - just say "Bookstore NAME" will open officially on XX of November. Everybody is welcome" This is confirmation. And what you do is spreading one more rumour. We've heard them all.
Anyhow there is a lot of unused space, but why making secrets of the "major bookstore". To me it is all just rumours, until I see it.
All talks about Ikea, Magrudys etc. are simply plans. I was in The Centre today, where Magrudy's will supposedly open the store, and trust me, it will take a year or so until someone will do something there. For the IKEA there is simply no building around - i.e. 2-3 years, and this "I SPY BOOKSTORE" is a plain b@#$%t If you want to open something - just do it!
Everyone wants to the the best informed one. How many times we heard "I can confirm - Singways in Villagio", "I can confirm - IKEA in Villagio" etc. etc. these confirmations are not worth the electrons they are written with (as there is no paper to be written on).
So stop usless speculations. When there will be a store we will come there (if we will still be in Doha). And watching out you'd be better in Africa for lions.
Qatar's winter months are brimming with unmissable experiences, from the AFC Asian Cup 2023 to the World Aquatics Championships Doha 2024 and a variety of outdoor adventures and cultural delights.

Stock is being delivered to the shop.
maybe the coming november it will have a grand opening.
Yep - We have the staff and stock - just need electricity/phone.
The book store has not opened yet however, they should be sometime this month. At least that is what they told me in an e-mail responce I got from them.
So any update on this? Has this "bookstore" opened yet?
Okay. Has anyone been to this "I SPY BOOKSHOP"? I'm an avid reader, I would like to know if they have more novels than Jarir and also the price range. Any information will be highly appreciated.
Yours sincerely,
A Book-worm

Princess: both are not mutually exclusive. You have listened now, but 2 days after you will say "why didn't you tell me?"
At least I listened finally! Typical woman in your world would have said "why didn't you tell me"..
Ivanho: "Which books are people wanting? Remember the censorship issues please."
So... I won't have my Sailor Moon hentai? Boooo...
Princess: I knew I had to repeat something ten times to get your attention...typical woman
I hear you... Still waiting on Apple and the Lulu Pork feedback. I shall stop holding my breath!

What are you like on the roads??
What language would you like books in??
Which books are people wanting? Remember the censorship issues please.
Ivanhoe: No worries, about chilling out, mate. I am not an English speaker, so I couldn't care less about it.

Wasn't third floor closed for public?
What's the bookshop called?
