I need to know something urgent . 2 months ago i bought a car from a friend (bad friend) . Its istemara was finished . So the car couldnt be changed on other persons name until it gets new istemara . I told that i pay money after its on my name . But it needed paint and some other job . So i spent more then 2500 on it and was about to paint it but police caught the car on road without istemara .

So the car went with police . They told me to pay 1500 tomorrow . Nxt day i came and they wont give me the car because its not on my name . So i told the old owner everything and he said he will do everything . Daily i call him . 1 month passed still he wont do something or maybe he cant do somehing .

The owner of that car is pakistani but its not registered on his name . Its on qatari name . So the qatari can only take the car from police . I dont know who is this qatari .
e makesmstupid excuses like he is sick or he is out of country etc .

Last night he said i should take my stuff out of the car . But now the police wont let me touch the car and how can i take those tires , fans , light etc out the car . Its in police yard .

The car is still with police .

The person wont pickup my phone eveb .
What should i do ????

Its your fault.. you used the car without registration and it was completely under your responsibility .. If your "bad friend" helps you take the car from the police, he'll be doing you a "favor" .. so better ask him nicely..Good luck

WTF is istamara? Insurance?.

Bullaz,

Did you have the paper work to fix the car?

Did you get a Token (a receipt for your money that you paid)

Did you get an NOC letter from the owner to drive his car?

If you have the above then Police can help you, if you don't then only the owner of the vehicle can help you!

I would say cut your loses and forget the car its not your problem as the car is not in your name, you spent QR2500 on the car but you also used it for two months hence it evens out.

Speaking of Istimara let me just say what a pain in the anus it is to get it done around here. The amount of times i had to run from pillar to post is ridiculous. Why cant they just make car renewals every 5 years or something? :(

You learned your lesson. Forget about it, move on.

As per your profile you are a senior person and it is funny that you were driving somebody's car knowing that it doesn't have road permit. When did you realise that your friend is a bad one? Everything you did is wrong and probably illegal. Nobody other than the Pakistani and the car owner can help you in this situation.

3 important things to remember in buying 2nd hand CAR.

1) check for radar status (maybe more than the price)

2) check for stimara (don't buy expired stimara)

3) check for engine (chk for oil leaked)

that s what happen when we try to buy cheap car , we loose all sometimes , we think we are cheating but we are cheated in fact

By GodFather.• 26 Nov 2012 07:36

I'm with PCMAC. You used the car, the police caught the car on the road when it shouldn't have been and took it off you. Just write off the money you spent as if it was car rental, and put the whole thing down to experience.

YOU ARE ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT A CAR WHEREIN IN YOUR PROFILE YOU ARE A QATARI. SO, BEING A QATARI HAS THE ADVANTAGE IN DEALING WITH THAT KIND OF PROBLEM YOU ARE FACING OFF.

So that means you didnt pay for the car yet right?

you spent 2500 and you drove the car for 2 months ...Great deal.

Imagine you rent-a -car for this period, it would minimum cost you 3500QR :)

so just forget it and move on ...look for a new car to buy (ofourse with valid istamara )

Police is only Concerned with the Fine, Like you Said, Car is Not in your name, So Technically You can't Pay the Fine & Take the Car....

Now, Get Hold of the Owner, It's your Stupidity & nothing else...

Best of Luck!
