Ok, so I really have to go ALL the way to Villagio or City Center to get the M A C cosmetics for my clients, I am a Makeup Artisit, which I am willing to do, but with all the traffic here it can take FOREVER!!! So I have to say I wanted to hug
the lowered M A C door today when I went to LandMark for other supplies for my clients. But then I thought that wouldnt look to good, a niqabi hugging a door!!! LOL!!! Tell me its not a dream? Easy access without having to drive across town!?! Is it really true?

Hey nafisa, since you're a make-up artist I guess you're the best person to ask. I'm new into this so I don't know much. I want to know which make-up brands are available in sephora and which ones are the best?

I really dont think it is realistic to only use 1 product line. I personally cannot use the MAC foundation, it is way to yellow for me, and I LOOOOVVVEEE Boujious waterproof Nightclubbing mascara! Smashbox also has great silicone base primer and lip exfoliator that is actually nummy! I also like a brand of mascara by another makeup artist it is called "Mally" and oh, oh also Inglot!!! So many choices and looove their pallettes! Oh yeah, also Eve Pearl Salmon concealer!!! She's won 5 Grammys for a reason!

I am sorry Jasmine to hear you had a negative experience at MAC. They have basically the same staff at all the stores here that I can tell from that they rotate from store to store. I have seen recently they hired a few more girls (maybe 2 or 3) and have not spoken with them personally. I hope you have better experiences in the future. They should always remember that we ARE in the beauty SERVICE industry and that we are here to serve the clients (within reason of course!) but that the client is first and foremost!!!

I have a mix and match makeup bag, some products are great from one and not so great from another. I do like the Nars eyeshadows, love MAC gloss (nothing stays better) Smash Box has some great products, Benefit mascara is good but I never liked any of the products from Makeup Forever.

I adore the NARS salesman at Landmark. I could have him as a BFF anytime. _________________________________________________

I will never go to Mac Villagio again, the child who served me was SO rude to me on Thursday night and made me feel like an ugly fool who had no business even trying to better herself. I hope Landmark will choose a better standard of staff. It takes courage to ask for help in these places, it is horrid to be spoken to as if you are dirt, and stupid dirt at that.

hey, you know what, i once bought a blusher form nars that everyone talks about, and it was a disappointment .... also some of my clients said ''don't use nars products' .... in my view, nars has just the name, no way they can be compared with mac or makeup forever ...

I do normal people in Qatar and members of the Royal Family. I have been here for 3 months so I am just establishing my clientele here. I have been in the beauty business for 20 years and have worked in Salons and privately. You may contact me ***. Thankyou for your inquiry

You are a makeup artist? Do you do this for fashion models and so forth, or can normal people hire you? If normal people can hire you, please PM me with details including costs.

nafisah, make up is make up regardless of the brand. If your clients are going to be all fussy about it, then let them bring their own stuff. When i go out to get all done up, I see how the make up and brushes are used. If I don't like what I see, I take my own case and pay 1/2 the price.

No need to apologise.

enough wah wah lol.

i like the description 'underpaid with money flying all around me' very true. Uneven distribution of wealth.

Life is really hard for some and impossible for others.

This is why we need a change, a golbal effective managed change.

I misunderstood the post. I apologize, I am just on edge here I guess. Busting my backside trying to get a foothold here, been here 3 months and already abandoned, have to take care and do my best (By Allah of course, yes I am a revert Muslimah, Alhamdullilah) for my children and keep them safe, warm, fed and housed. It definately is a mans world here and to be without one is really brutal. My dh is in US having a great time without wife and kids to hold him down.

Ok, enough wah wah. I have to do what I have to do and again, I apologize just misunderstood and underpayed with money flying all around me. Just want a decent life for my children, not a new pair of Gucci shoes or Land Rover.

Thank you kindly for your advice about NARS. I have actually been trying to get a hold of their triple milled face powder but it seems that all of Qatar is out and will take 2 months to come all the way from Dubai LOL. Yes, I can order from USA too, but want to be sure my clients like it. Thanks again

nafisah, please ignore the comments that you don't like.

As for mac, I only use their shadow, but then I got to know NARS. They have AMAZING colors and long-lasting. Try them. You will find it in Faces, Landmark

nafisah,

I did not imply that you were wasting time. did i?!!

I just said that the social life can be rearranged to have aceptable traffic - that is all!

I sympathise with you though and commend your hard work to raise your beloved family- well done!

Should I be of any use, please let me know!

Peace!

Please befor you are so quick to reply in such a way implying I am wasting my time in cosmetics stores. You do not know me nor do you know my situation which entails 4 children, one of which is disabled and my wonderful dh has dumped me here with very little support so I have to do makeup to feed my 4 children!!! It is so easy to be flippant when you have time too be. I am on this board out of NECESSITY and not some rich spoiled brat who can just buy what I want, any ease for me is a blessing so I can take care of my children

It is hard to have but possible. We need to re-engineer the social life for such a thing which could happen.

Additionally, find a useful radio station and keep listening to utilise time.
