Lagoona Mall - Fire Fighting System

IanW
By IanW

American style red fire hydrants are being installed outside Lagoona Mall next to the entrances. Better late than never.

But somewhat disappointing that a brand new Mall didn't have them before opening. Or have Civil Defence changed the rules recently? Anyone know?

These hydrants are for the Civil Defence to use - not Mall employees. CD should be well trained....

Are they trained to use this

I think they are connecting to fire mains run in the underground car parking. Where these pipes get their water from, I don't know.... ?????

The hydrants tht they so install, where is the water being supplied from , are the underground mains supplying these hydrants?

The 4 new hydrants at the front are just an extension to the existing system. There are several 'old' ones at the back of the building.

Let's hope they are never needed but that if and when ... they work.

Yah, I noticed that last Tuesday when I went there.

But it's fine.Maybe that is only additional safety measures only. I like Lagoona Mall too, but it seems it will take more months to enjoy the whole mall because of the shops and foodcourt.
