Just wanna buy a shelf, for crying out loud...
Is there no place in Qatar, where I can buy a simple shelf to put up in my bathroom. I'm also looking for shelves for other parts of the apartment. Generally I need to find a place that sells "smart storage". Basically, I need an Ikea, but that doesn't exist in this village called Doha. Anyone knows of any stores, where I can find what I'm looking for? I've been to Home Center and Homes R Us, but they do not have anything like it. Any advice is appreciated.
i had the exact same problem... in the end, i settled for a free standing shelving unit from Homes R Us. At least i can take it with me when i leave my rented accomodation.
Later i found out, that the Souks is the best place to get stuff, some shops tailor make shelves for walls and corners.
GIVE ME THE SIZE AND I WILL MAKE YOU ONE. HAVE A CARPENTRY SHOP ON SITE AND SOME LEFTOVER WOOD, GIVE ME A DRAWING AND MY FILIPINO CARPENTERS WILL MAKE YOU ONE FOR A VERY REASONABLE PRICE. JUST GIVE ME A SIMPLE DRAWING AS A CONCEPT.

Cheaper alternative, you might want to try Max at city centre (and elsewhere, not sure). But yeah, not much choice. Another place you might want to try is Marks and Spencers. I thought I saw some smart storage stuff but I don't shop around much.
Maybe try Carrefour household section - they had smart storage stuff like IKEA once but since then I haven't seen any (or not in my mental list and thus, out of focus) I just whizz by and grab what I need and split the scene.
