I cant make ebay purchases in Doha!!!!

Hi Everyone,

I know it is stupid to borrow someone else's credit card but I have been trying to buy stuff in Ebay and my purchases wont go thru because my QNB debit card isnt really a debit card but just an ATM card, when it should be a debit since it really is a debit. Whatever! Bottomline, I need someone's credit card information and I will pay him/her outright cash. This is not a spam or fake advertisement. I know it sounds really stupid and shaddy but I am left with no options since everyone in our company is new and I have to make this immediate purchase. Plese dont hate guys for writing this forum...

Thank you

Hi

very much qualified but the problem is I need urgently and the catch of getting a debit card or virtual card is that you need to get the credit card first before you can get a debit or virtual card...and I am preventing credit cards....

Hi Ollie. Is your salary not qualified to apply for any creditcard in Doha?

Thank you for your response.

You dont have to point out what is obvious and I already acknowledge that. What I dont get is that your english is horrible so I dont either expect you to understand my above stated inquiry. Did you type your message thru a celphone coz its coming to me like a text message.

I appreciate your response but the inappropriate use of words and vague english distorted the meaning.

Thank you,

Can't help it, your just plain and stupid inquiry? what do you expect. C'mon its just laziness, it's in your face, staring at you, BANK, just tell your problems.

Hi,

What are those banks?

I have tried QNB and DOHA and the policy sucks!

QNB said I need to get a credit card before I can get the E-card which voids out the purpose coz why get an e-card when u already have a credut card. or the very purpose of getting the e-card is to avoid the credit card...while DOHA bank says almost the same thing....

I have no idea what is happening with the middle east banking system.

Maybe I can meet you and you put your card number thru and not give it to me anymore...

Its rediculous...sorry...

Mine only has a low limit of 3,000, it was made for internet use and you can not be scammed, very good security.....

go for these 2 banks which are quiet lenient in giving their CREDIT CARDS. Don't know other banks.

.

Anyhow, i would agree with many above that nobody will give you their CREDIT CARD details as you might know many frauds were done in Qatar & UAE via credit cards and in some cases by DEBIT CARDS.

.

So guys, keep on changing your PIN CODE for your debit cards & NEVER REVEAL YOU CREDIT CARD details to anybody especially on net or through Instant Messengers (yahoo, windows live messenger etc)

Doha bank gives away prepaid credit card called Click Card.. every bank should be giving similar... it the most simple and safe credit card.. its no less than a credit card, except you cant use it elsewhere BUT online..

HSBC could be an answer considering that most local banks dont give a good service and calling their customer care is like calling a local grocery shop and the person on the other line is struggling to explain everything to you as if you dont know what he is talking about...sucks!!!!

I wish I could ask my family....

Hi,

thanks for your reply but QNB said that the debit card that I have isnt really a debit card they just term it is a debit card but it really isnt...

iam a frequent ebayer. i get stuffs every week. i dont see buying from ebay as any problem.. its as smooth as ice.. here are the steps...

1) get a CREDIT CARD (not debit card) for ANY bank in Qatar

2) open a new paypal account as buyer (first option out of three) with your genuine email id.

3) Register your credit card on the created paypal accound with the ACTUAL billing address (the same address on with the credit card is applied).

4) Paypal will send a authentication code by debiting $1.99 (refundable on verification) as a step to verify your credit card genuineness and to check if the credit card really belongs to you...

5) check your credit card statement for this autentication code (4 digit code) next to the debited $1.99.

6) input this 4 digit authenticaton code, and then your credit card is authenticated to be used for purchase through paypal..

USE PAYPAL for safer online payment..

7) then you link your paypal account with your ebay account.

8) if you wish to ship the items directly to Qatar, then paypal shipping address (also called confirmed shipping address) is used by default for ebay shipments.

Note: Not many ebay sellers prefer international shipping, as its a risk they run under. also note 99% of postal service dont ship to PO Box address, which is by default our Qatar postal system. so most of them insist on local (US) buyers.

9) so you may approach either Aramex for Shop n Ship service or DHL for Easyshop service (aramex shipping is cheaper)

10) both of the above service provides you with a local (US) address. (aramex gives US and UK address).

Note - the address they provide isnt a PO Box address but a real physical address, so its normal and safe shipping address.

11) Add this local address as your default shipping address (replacing your Qatar address).

12) so all your shipment would be sent to the local address (90% of shipping cost is free if shipped to local address).

13) then the service providers (Aramex or DHL) would forward the items received at your designated box withing their address to your Qatar address swiftly.

14) so then you go to local service provider and collect your ebay item by paying the shipping cost....

As simple as that..... follow these steps and then you will join my club... happy ebaying....

pm if you need any specific help... all the best...

You also need to fund your paypal account using your credit and debit card.

If you want you can apply for a pre-paid internet credit card. Like what I did.

I don't see a really big problem in your advancing someone the cash and then having them use their card to make the purchase. The problem is in shipping to Qatar from an Ebay seller, or do you use Aramex?

In some point it's true but some time the listing is a sacm and you don't want to rick it and hand over ypur CR info to some1 or the auction finish and you will never get a reply from the seller, although I have linked my doha bank AMEX to my old paypal in the state and it's woking just fine.

Not always Kakaw, you can contact the sellers and they do accept credit cards from Qatar. I have bought loads on ebay. _____________________________________________________

switch to HSBC,

I doubt anyone is going to give you his/her Credit Card info...unless you ask a family member.

Ask a family member in the States m8.

Just phone up QNB and ask em about their online shopping methods. Dont think anyone is gonna give you their credit card details

Cheers!
