How much to tip the grocery baggers?
At home we dont tip anything for a bagger to bag your groceries. I heard you are supposed to tip them, even if they dont walk you to your car and help you unload, is this true? How much do they expect for bagging groceries?
And, how much is reasonable if they do bag a shopping cart full of goods and then help you to your car and then also unload it?

I need to know so that I can keep the tip money separate from my wallet and purse. I dont want to be caught off guard searching thru my wallet attracting attention.
I tip because it makes me feel good to see them smile. From 5 - 20 QR, depending on how much I have in hand. So to avoid not having small notes, I have 5's in my car for tipping.

i don't tip them for bagging the groceries only. if they help push the cart to the car then i tip, but not more than QR5.
Five to to QAR for bagging or taking the groceries to the car? If you tip that high, you have probably become their new best friend. For bagging at the check out only, there should be NO expectation of any tip. For helping you out the car to load, a couple of QAR will suffice. If you want to be extremly generous, five.

I dont think its expected per se. Ofcourse, anyone can tip out of kindness. But i haven't noticed it to be the norm or expected. Do let me know if it is.
At carrefour i'v never seen a bagger, its usually myself and the cashier doing it together.

Some pay 5-10 riyals. so its fair to pay them coz they usually are paid less by the CO.
It doesnt mind payin them 5-10 or even more....

QR 5 or any lose QR 1s you have. Tipping is never complusary but voluntary. Baggers helping you deserves your voluntary tip, kind gesture against kind gesture.
