PLease report to baladiya....they are very strict...Baladiya will close down the outlet for atleast one month if such a scenario arises. Please proceed to baladiya with proper supportings...they will take strict action...displaying an expiered product will punished in qatar.!!!!
Smoke, did you take it back to mega mart and show them this error. They should know that this mistake has taken place. Do you have the receipt? When did you buy it?
And you should also report it to the consumer protection department.
This had happened to me, when shopping in Dasman, the pack of juice that I had picked up were expired. I simply reported it to the management. It could be a simple human error, but they should also know the customers are cautious and do pick up on these things and can report to the authorities.
Expired is expired PERIOD. You should report them to Baladiya so that they will be careful in their operation.
most goods have expiration dates far earlier than the products would do any harm. No one seems to understand this here, seem to think they will be poisoned by such goods. Seen shops here closed for a month for vitamin tablets being 2 days over the expiration date and workers being fined and given (suspended) prison terms for the offence.
Use your head! If you could use these canned goods a few weeks earlier do you think they will be dangerous? In most cases they will not be. Get a life you guys calling for draconian punishments! Life's too short for such silliness.
report and call to baladiya
At the end of the day, it is the Seller's responsibility to ensure that goods stocked on their shelves are not expired.
I would suggest reporting this to the authorities.
expiry dates are there for a reason. if the shops sell these things they will be closed for a month.
Contact the consumer affairs dept, thats the best service that you can do to the community as a whole.
If marsman sells it, it doesnt mean that it is legal.
Do they give you receipt for the same?
One should always be looking at the expiry date, whether those goods are on offer or not...
I have accidentally bought expired goods in pretty much ALL supermarkets here at on time or another.
My mistake for not checking and trusting the supermarket employees.
and honest mistake.
MEGAMART is not stupid to sell expired goods that would cause them to pay a hefty amount in fine/penalty and closure for a certain period of time.
and from what I know from my working for MARSMAN INC (distribution company)way back when: canned food is still considered safe at least 3 months from the date of expiry. MARSMAN sells these items half the price.
I bet you bought it in packets of 4 or 6 SPECIAL SALE...just a guess...
Consumer right protection dept.
expiration date is placed on the product. We just need to be aware!
Mega Mart does stock a lotta stuff that is close to going off, some even within a few weeks, but to date I've not spotted anything that had actually already expired. And yes always always check and then double check expiery dates. Specially when they are either written in Arabic or all unrecognizable. In the case of the latter best not to take a chance with the product at all.
You can bring that to municipality
Well...the confusion might come from the label...it does say CENTURY tuna....
