today heading to villagio i saw coldstone closed with dust on the counters and a paper from some ministry

haha the "clean" cold stone is now closed bcoz it wasn't following certain hygiene policies or watever.
who would of seen that coming, with all the anticipation on Ql about it opening in qatar i expected a clean icecream shop.

Some of the staff at Coldstone told me that they were having trouble with customs when importing their ice creams. Could this closure be related to those troubles?

I think they should stop throwing the ice creams in the air they really are NOT impressive jugglers. The staff at Coldstone Bahrain are much better at juggling.

SpikenButchsMom. No Offense Ma'am, but top ministers here are usually connected to the Emirs family (if not actually one of them) and are very proud people indeed, I doubt they would see the funny side of an allegation of corruption but HEY whats it got to do with me? Knock yourself out Girl!

maybe it's not the rolling that's the reason..

lol, MacGyver - that's the whole point of the place. The thing they're 'rolling' it on is the COLD STONE.

SpikenButchsMom. Considering your job description in your profile that was a stupid comment!

It could be financial difficulties - they've closed locations in the States, too.

It is not unusual here for places such as shops and restaurants to be closed for a certain time. If by accident the (the hygiene department of the ministry) finds one bottle/jar/product in the shop/restaurant that is out of date, they will close shop. Even if that product is somewhere a forgotten item that has been overlooked somewhere. So it is really difficult for us the customer, to know if it was a serious infraction or....

I know this cos in the old days when we still had the Foodcentre at Midmac, they closed the shop for several months because of some jar of a ridiculous product was over the by sell date.
