P.S. Went to Bice with high hopes, as we know the chain from elsewhere, but it's quite disappointing here.
They've set it up well, but the problem, like in a lot of Doha restaurants, is consistency. Very, very inconsistent.
By the way, Lo Spaghetto in Al Sadd is not too bad. Trattoria-style, many classic dishes - simple and usually well-executed. (Italian chef and owner here, too)
I have still not tried Dolce Vita, but we've had a long chat and coffee with the owner and are planning to go eat there in the next days. It does look promising. But the proof is in the eating :)
However, Cinque Sensi was HUGELY disappointing. We read a good review in Time Out and went there, but it was a waste of what could have been a good dinner.
Among the Italian restaurants I've tried, the food at Il Teatro is absolutely brilliant.
I think the =ONE= doesn't know what he is talking about first of all Cinquesensi is an Italian restaurant by name owners are Lebanese chain they have also Layaly restaurant lebanese food there chef is Lebanese and not Italian instead Ladolcevita have an Italian chef called
Gaetano from napoli they cook Italian food second they do not serve pizza as mentioned this shows how some people are ignorant they write without even have tried
it, so I leave to the clients to judge and tell me why is it always full means they they have good food .
I am absolutely not promoting any restaurant, I just ate at the two different restaurants and I was very happy about Cinque Sensi and deeply disappointed about La Dolce Vita.
La dolce Vita is crap, the food tastes bad, and the service is as bad as any other restaurant in Doha who employs unqualified personnel. Furthermore, it is expensive for the bad food that they serve, and when I say bad, believe me I would not go back there even if it was for free. Opposite to the Dolce Vita is another Italian restaurant called Cinque Sensi, and that one is a really good one, they serve fine Italian cuisine and it is delicious, the service is excellent and the personnel is professional and they are Italians as well as the chef and the restaurant it self is at the standard of five stars restaurant, it is even cheaper then La Dolce Vita and believe me comparing those two restaurants is like comparing Haiti with Switzerland.
Do not believe whoever wrote the topic about the Dolce Vita, go to Cinque Sensi and enjoy yourselves.
DO YOU WANT TO KNOW THE REAL REASON WHY LADOLCEVITA IS THE BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN DOHA? THE REASON IS THEY ARE THE ONLY ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN DOHA AND NO OTHER ELSE.
