can I relocate in GCC with my car
Hi Pals,
I just have a few questions after following a discussion on new or second hand car.....
1) being a expat-on RP can I go other GCC countries o my car... say UAE and what would be other expenses that will occur like transit visas etc,,, if its possible.
2) If I relocate to other GCC country in a year or so ... can I take my car with me .... and how much extra I will be required to pay...(just an Idea)
the above I need to decide on whether a new or used car will be better for me...
Please advice....
sorry just realized that you imported your car in 2003!
what did you pay then?
Victory what were the charges in 2012?
I did import my car a decade ago, chk latest cargo chgs
Hi Victory when you mention Gulf Agency would you happen to know approx costs?
Hey dogbert would you know if there are additional costs in buying a new car from the UAE and getting it imported? Is it worth it?
addicted to caaaaaaaaaaar !!!
1. De-register the plates
2. Get export plates
3. Get 2 weeks vehicle insurance
4. Arrange for a cargo company to transport your car
5. Customs duty is 5% the value of the car, if it's older than 5 years. If not, there is no duty but make sure you have all the ownership papers from the original dealership.
Yes u could, the are certain pre condition like the car should not be more than 5 years old
Need export number plate from UAE, 5% custom duty and letter from your sponsor in Qatar. Suggest to check the detail process from Gulf Agency cargo services
I have no idea what it involves as I have never done it. As far as I know it is also possible to relocate - just a bunch of paperwork and some customs costs. There is no import duty between GSS states.
