Buying a car in Doha - The Toyota Experience
So my friend decided to buy a new car and one obvious place to look at was the Toyota showroom.
We walk into the showroom at the lower level of the towering Toyota building on the old airport road.
After walking around the showroom and taking a look at some of the vehicles on display we look around for some assistance. There is none to be seen, all the sales reps are tied up with customers. Definitely a problem with staffing levels, considering the amount of business they have in Qatar.
Hang on, there's a rep who's resting on a chair, nothing wrong with that, I mean it can be tiring standing around the showroom all day and explaining things to customers.
So we approach this person and place our queries. Somehow this person seems disenchanted and not very inclined on pressing us to pick a Toyota.
We are approached by a few Qataris who wanna have a look at the Land Cruisers. So our man starts addressing their queries. Then they start walking towards the Land Cruisers.
We are still near the sedans and this person has completely forgotten about us. We wait another 20 minutes, try to hail him, hail some other reps but nothing.
We leave, feeling a tremendous sense of rage at being treated this way.
Toyota just lost a customer - I don't think they cared really, but neither do I.
Next stops Honda and Nissan. The experience - cherishable!
This is not a one-off case and I've heard similar complaints from other people in Qatar. I believe the Toyota customers in Qatar deserve better service and hope that Qatar Living will be successful in highlighting this problem.
toyota... they only care for locals..
Guys/Gals,
I had the same bitter experience with their Showroom in Airport Road. No one cares for the expats as all the salesmen are behind the Locals as they know their destination is either a Land Cruiser or Lexus
Better go to the City Centre showroom where I happened to meet an Indian Sales Guy who was extremely polite. He tried to get me loan(I managed myself somehow) the best possible way he could.
There is another Option of going to Al xxxxx, co(sorry I dont remember the name) who is also the agent of Toyota. The price was QR.550/- less than Abdul Ghani for Toyota Corolla. But they have short fall of deliveries.
At Nissan the Sales men are extremely good and know how to treat their customers well.
They try to give worst treament to their customer as they can.
hi novita, the FJ cruz is very good on rough terrains like mountains and rocks.. but it is not much good wen it comes to dunes. for dunes, land cruiser is far better than fj. please see the fj vidoes on toyota website. it climbs hills like anything,!!

Off from the thread ... does anyone on this board have try or buy FJ Cruiser. The car have a very good review from the expat community in Dubai, and it seems ppl said FJ Cruiser doing better than Land Cruiser off road.
every country, they have a dealer exclusively for cars.. here the dealer is abdulla abdul ghani and they are the toyota here. u r being a fool saying ythat AAA has nothinhg to do with toyota.. can u buy a camry or corolla or any toyota model except fj cruiser from doha without thru them..? try ! they are the exclusive people who sell toyota and lexus here.
MR.live and legandary, i have forwarded your stuff to mr.susheel and mr. pankajan. they are the marketing and commercial managers for toyota.

I know what you mean ...
as far as demand are more than supply ... they wont bother ...
I mean thats why they are treating it as their own brand. Salesmanship and service are not the words in their dictionary.

Abdullah Abdulgani have the right for distribute toyota in Qatar just like Al Fardan for BMW.
Toyota and Lexus agents in Qatar.
The other people are Tadamon, but what I understand is that they buy the cars off AAB,
TOYOTA? Is there anything like Toyota showroom in Doha? The people selling Land Cruisers are Abdullah Abdulgani and they have nothing to do with Toyota!!!

Live and Legendary & porsche168, couldn't agree with you more.
My story ------
I know what I want, but just wanted to be further convinced by one of their sales reps. with an educated reason to buy the car.
No one seemed to be bothered, they all had a queue of customers waiting for the guys at the desk.
When I asked one of the sales reps. I want a, b, c, in the Camry, he just gave me a figure. When queried about the differences between the different alphabets that appear at the end of the Camry (name), he moved over to the next customer.
I know I want the Camry GLX or the Land Cruiser GX-R, I need the Land Cruiser because of the type of driving in Qatar and my own mileage requirements. I can afford the Camry GLX due to financial constraints.
I know, the toyota range is best for my mileage and can beat Honda, Nissan and Mazda any day in terms of maintenance. This has been my experience driving a Toyota all these years.
I was well received by the Nissan and Honda Rep. just walking into the showroom. They even worked out my EMI. The Nissan fellow worked out that I could easily afford the Super safari or the Murano(don't know if I got the spelling right.)
Even thought the experience with the Toyota sales guy was no good, I am still contemplating the Toyota, which requires the least amount of maintenance.
By the way, maintenance on Toyota is low but the price of spare parts has got up by 100%.
they dont care, their car sells well like a roast peanuts. Good car but bad customer service.
we also experienced the same thing. move on to other brands..... they have to buck up!!!!
