Sorry but Labneh is NOT the same same as buttermilk... Labneh is a type of strained yogurt...... buttermilk is the the milky substance usually left after beating cream to butter or as in most cases these days is massed produced my adding "Streptococcus Lactis" to milk..
but back to the question at hand...I have seen it some times in Mega mart but that's about it.....although I would have thought Carrefour would stock it but obliviously not.....

I think Skimmed Milk is more near to the Buttermilk
i always use it in cakes and scones. it is amazing as it makes it nice and tender .i also use a bit of baking soda with it.

But i consider LABAN as a subsitute of BUTTERMILK..Neways, i can make buttermilk at home too..Its easy to make...

you are right, leban is buttermilk and u dont need to add salt in it, as its already added a salt in it
