well a friend of mine recommended that I buy suits that were manufactured for these brad names but do not actually have the tag on them... I do not know of this and besides has anyone here ever tried such a thing?
Me to i used to wear hugo boss, Armani, Yves St Laurent, Gucci....but believe me actually the best fashion suites are made by SMALTO the king's and Emir's tailor.
Armani and hugo boss is the best suit that my husband used to wear until now.....he dnt wear anything than this two branded suites...its a bet expensive but good quality and comportable...
Why do not you try Marks & Spencer suits??? They are excellent qulaity at very good prices? I have been using them for more than 8 years and they are simply great. M&S is located @ Landmark shopping mall. They have a wide range of suits starting from 700 Qrs up to 1500 Qrs but my personal choice is always the travel suit which is extremely comfortable and easy care. I think the price is about 850 or 900 Qrs.
all brands has is suites that make you look like 100 years old, old cutes, out of fashion colors and strips. Try Zara's Suites ( Zara's casual clothes suck aslo, but the suites are good), massimmo dutti is good. Personally, i buy the orignial Hugo Boss, Armano and GFF suites and shoes every time i go to beirut, lebanon from their original branches in downton beirut. but for every day office suites, Zara and Dutti will do it. i dont need to wear my 1600 USD DKNY or 1800 USDGFF suite to office, hehehe
As an owner of both types of suits, the quality is evident in two aspects:
1- the MATERIAL! Canali, Armani etc... tend to have a material finish that is incomparable to the 1000QR suit.
2- Cut and fit; certain brands fit me better. The hand made ones still had a cut and fit that was not distinctive.
I tend to use my cheap suits for occasions where I know they will end up harmed such as a late night party…. But for serious business; you must go branded!
Note that any man who bought a couple of good brands can tell the difference at a glance. The question is; how much do you care???

If you want the originals...no idea, but if you want a copy of the originals (just the brand sign is missing), tailor fitted...go to the souqhs, select your design and material and they'll do it for 1000 maximum! They can tailor any suit you want!

Hugo Boss has a more generous cut, German style, Armani, Pal Zileri, Canali, ie the Italians, have a more tapered cut. Depends on your body type.

The Al Hitmi Tailor is in Souq Faleh near the new QCPI tower and AL Misk at Abdulla Bin Thani Street.
These two are very good at making suits and especially Al Hitmi is favoured by a lot of Western expats...
