Found the address in another post on "sushi". From Ramada Junction, one-two blocks after you past Jarir bookstore on Salwa Road. Black-grey signboard - NEO word hard to recognise.
Tried it. Only one chef and 4 waiters. So long wait.
Saw another table being served ebi tempura after we ordered. It is not on menu. Prawns are really big. Good thing we didn't order, prawn is tough after tasting nigri.
We ordered
- 2 california handroll (crab meat is dry).
- Canada maki (8 pieces - nice)
- Special Sushi Platter (Mix of 30 pieces of sashimi, maki and nigri. Salmon and tuna sashimi not very fresh. Rice for maki and nigri is mushy)
Price on the high side. 365QR including 12% service charge.
The others have more or less answered your questions. My favorite sushi bar is at the Four Seasons. Sorry, I forgot the name of that restaurant but it's at the lobby level and you can have an excellent friday brunch there.
Tried Royal Plaza before, found it below average... although they specialize in sushi. Maybe I am spoiled by great sushi bars in New York and San Francisco, yet I haven't found a great sushi place here; except for Four Seasons, they are pretty good.
there is also one at landmark if ever your location is near there.. they have a sushi shop at carrefour.. tried but didnt like it.. i would still suggest la cigale and ramada..
there is one resto in al naseer i just forgot the same..sorry..they have sushi bar and they also serve shabu shabu...it was great it's near kfc at the other side..hope this helps ^_^

I was going to say that I saw one in:
"Carrefore has Sushi to take away, but only in the landmark."
But it might seem a bit late to say so,

in any case, Enjoy
