I need some specialised car sales advice
Hi there, I have a very strange car sales situation that I need to sort out. I have a fully paid off car that is in my name and stored at a friends place in Qatar. Here’s the kicker, I left Qatar last year Dec with the intention of relocating to Abu Dhabi and once settled exporting the car to the UAE after a short holiday in Thailand but our plans have changed drastically in the meantime and we will be settling in Thailand.
So I now need to sell my car and I won’t/cant be in Qatar
As I’m sure you can imagine my previous company is in no hurry to provide a no objection letter to help me fly in to Doha to sort this out so is there an option of appointing someone to act as a proxy to sell the car on my behalf and is there any particular paperwork required to facilitate this?
This would mean that this person would have to be able to go to the traffic department with a buyer and transfer the car into their name on my behalf and also do the same at the insurance department.
Any help/suggestions would be highly appreciated

there is an option which is, you can provide your friend who will be assiting you in selling the car by issue a letter from your side (power of attorny) authorising your friend by selling your car, after you prepare this letter, please visit Qatar Embassy wherever you are exist, ask them to attest this letter, then send the origin to your friend, so he can use this power of attorny and sell your car on your behalf.
if your car's insurance is not a full comprehensive (third party only) then there is no need to transfer the name, the main important thing is the car's registration,
and better if you are able to send a copy of your passport included the cancelled RP along with the power of attorny.
