Need help from QL members.

Actually my Honda Civic AC is giving me big trouble. It was running fine until one day the ac stopped working.

I took it to a mechanic near al sadd area and he said that the fan has stopped working and I got the fan replaced.

Still it was not working - then he said that as the fan had stopped it heated up and the pressure increased and caused leakage of gas - so I got the pipe leakage also fixed and refilled the gas and it started cooling but sometimes it worked sometimes it didnt

I took it back to the same mechanic and he said that as the fan had got burnt it heated up and damaged the sensor also and hence you need to replace the compressor. By this time I had already spent 600 QR and he was asking 2500 + QR to replace the compressor.

I showed it to another mechanic and he said that the previous mechanic has fooled me and that he must have filled bad quality gas and he said that there is no problem in sensor. He filled gas again and took another 100 QR then again the same problem continued for a while - it used to work sometimes and sometimes it didnt and after 7-8 days not it is not working at all and the ac is not even working 1 % and in this heat I am getting roasted in my car.

Please advise !!!

To be honest, you won't find any mechanic in Qatar who is an expert. To find a leak you need at least an ultra-violet leak detection system. Has anybody seen it here? Everything else they do here is guessing and ripping customers off. Not because they are bad guys, but because they are stupid! So, the best you can do is become an expert yourself and then rip the mechanics!
