Has anyone had an after-market iPod jack installed into their car?

Hmmm....the car antenna idea is a good one! Low-tech, non-invasive, cheap. The problem with the transmitter, even an upgraded one, is indeed the interfering radio stations, mostly at roundabouts. Where is this antenna connection? Could a shop do this?

Thanks for your replies. I already have an FM modulator but want to upgrade to a direct connection to a jack installed into the dash that feeds the music directly to the stereo system. I know Rover did it for a friend's new LandRover, but very expensive. Honda service doesn't do it. Looking for a car audio shop that has done this.

If your getting a i-pod connection fitted to your radio, you are probably like me and don't listen to the radio channels here in Qatar. Get the car radio antenna disconnected from the back of the radio when you fit your i-pod connection and it works great

Although i haven't got a IPOD FM modulator as i do not trust the clarity and tranmission. I've read about wired FM modulators - where one connects the wire to the car radio aerial which will give better clarity and transmission than from a FM frequency. Check with the car audio guys out in the Qatar(arnd sanaa rdabt) but they said they can't help fix the wire to the aerial.

I've heard Belkin gives good performance. There are also FM modulators for the ipod available at the Apple store in THE MALL. Haven't check them out.
