Dears, I am very close to get a used BMW X5 2002 as I suppose to check the car today. Some friends of mine told me there are some concerns about the regular maintenance cose and the spare parts cost.
Please if you know anything about this X5 model this will be really appreciated.
I sold my X5 as soon as the warranty expired. You have to have some serious cash to keep it maintained at your own cost. A windshield wiper alone is over QR 500. I wouldnt waste my money to be honest, buy something more reliable, and for the cost of the 2002 you will spend at least double in the first 2 years maintaining it. God help you if you need to change any major parts, they will be worth more than the car.
A friend of mine recently bought a BMW X5 model 2004, after using it for almost 6 months he is now complaining the high maintenance cost as it drain his pocket.
My suggestion is to never buy a car without warranty. Especially something like a BMW or a Mercedes, with loads of electronic and computerised gadgets that can break down at any time. Also, if you have warranty, BMW shall gladly provide BSI as well.
The service and mainteneance of BMW and Mercedes are mongst the most expensive. It is also very unlikely that you shall be able to buy the BSI or warranty, as the car is very old.

Maintenance and Spare parts are both EXPENSIVE..
