Dealers' cheating in order to book new car
Hi everybody
After too much research, I made up my mind and I booked a brand new car (gave a small frontage), I delivered my rent car and I took a personal loan. Dealer promised for delivery within 3-4 working days....Now, there are over 3 weeks I am waiting and they still cannot tell me if I will be able to have my car this week....I think seriously to take the frontage back and go to another dealer but there are two factors that stop me:
1) I want THIS car and there isn't other dealership (same brand) in country out of my knowledge
2) I am afraid that cheating is common here from dealers and I am going to wait other 3-4 weeks while I have to pay the loan without having car...All dealers promise me delivery within 3-4 working days in order to "catch" me...:) I am not sure if they tell me the truth...
Any thoughts? (I don't want to provide branch name for obvious reasons...)
The problem is not the payment. It is just 500QAR anyway. I paid with debit card without anymore proof. I told them last week that I need replacement car but "they don't have". They told me that "on (last) Sunday, we will definitely tell you when you are going to have your car". It was a problem of shipment "due to Eid Holiday". Yesterday night (Sunday) I called and again they told that they know WHEN on Tuesday....
Anyway, from tomorrow, if the problem exists, I will take care for everybody in Doha to know which branch uses these practices....
I would really appreciate from the beginning if they told me "in one month" or "we don't know"
Know, I am hearing everyday a new lie....

boss. who did you pay? .. did you get a official receipt form the showroom where you are buying the car ..
I had similar issues .. I was dealing with a dealer who is now a police case..
I got my money back but after 4 months of hassle .. Bottom line "you need to have official payment slip for the money you paid to any showroom or service !"
Make sure that you reach the showroom and get official memo for the car and see written proff why things are getting delayed!

did they mention delivery date on invoice ? if yes, go to consumer dept and explain to them how you are loosing money on rent / loan. they will find a way for you.
if its not mentioned, then you can do nothing than waiting . good luck
Catch the lair & take him to the owner directly ....... call the manager there & you fire both the employess ............ ask the compensation = rental for the days delayed from the manager's pocket .......... pull the manager up ..............
Lying is common in Qatar. Not only with cars but also in normal grocery shops. When they run out of your favorite cigarette brand and you ask them when they will have stock again they will always promise 'by tomorrow'. However, it usually takes a week or two before they have supply again.
Yes, there are many Unscrupulous sales persons - they want to make the sale to get commission, without really caring for the customer.
However, there could be other factors , including shipment from manufacturer and customes clearance.
Talk to the dealer , find out what the issue is and tell them to pay for a rental car whilst ou wait for delivery.
