coputer check for cars
Hi,
I'm planning to buy a used car from a private seller. I'm planning to bring the car for a computer check along salwa road but can someone pls tell me what does the test actually does and what can it tell me about the car?
Can i find out if there is any accident history about the car from the check?
Thank you.
I disagree with the above comments from my friends about trusting the computer check for the cars.so far there has been no machine built to check engine or transmission(Gear) of a car from inside.the computer check only shows how the censores of engine or gear are working and how the emission and output of engine, and shifting of gear is working.computers are just capable of checking electronic parts of engine, not the engine from inside.i know a guy who had his car engine completly gone & the car gave alot of black smoke, the company gave him a big estimate for repairing the engine and after that he just did some oil treatment & took it for selling.he found a customer & they both went to a computer checking place.there was no problem with the engine in that computer report & he sold his car.i know its cheating but i just came to know abt it from some one.alot of cases happen like this daily.the guys working in computer checking shops have no experience and secondly u can always see new faces there.and if you replace your car parts with genuine parts even after a big accident these paople can't tell you whether the car is accident free or not.i don't believe in paying 300 for my satisfaction and later if they tell you that there is a problem then you leave the car and ur 300QR went useless..
This is a short story about my experience with car computer checks.I bought a 2nd hand honda city car last year April from somebody i didn't know.To avoid any doubts or for self satisfaction, what i did then was to look around the industrial area for where i could have the car checked.Luckily,I did find one. After sealing the deal with the seller of the car,i asked him to go with me to the computer check garage and he agreed. We had the car checked and the result showed a 99.9% engine and other vital areas ok.
To cut long story short,so far,i've never had any problems with the car up till now.I've only done oil changing twice and that's it.
Finally, computer checks are reliable. What you need to do is go to industrial area and look for any computer check garage, have the car checked and leave every other things to fate and luck. You'd better not let the seller to take you to his own computer check garage. You never know, people can be funny sometimes.A word is enough for the wise.
company is a good option, however computer check is reliable too, I changed almost 5 cars within last 12 years and always depending on computer check, no matter the guys from any part of the world its not nationality this is all about knowledge and experience. If you wish too try German Computer, they are really good as per my experience. You will get at least 75% idea rest leave it on your luck,
best of luck.
You cant find out the histort...computer checks only tell you if there is some problem with the engine...etc
There are 2 kinds of checks - Full check Qr600 and half check Qr300.
In fact that would be a good idea to make it mandatory for cars in the Middle East to carry a repair history card...and the cost...it would give you an idea how bad the car is....
You can check with the dealer, but if the owner has fixed the car elsewhere it will not be in their service records. The computer scanning guys are not bad too, I checked my car there and they give a thorough report.
They are Lebanese/Syrians , I think so. and what if they are Egyptian? Egyptians are good in automotive mechanism.
what ever your car is.... go to main dealer... ask for assistance... they are happy to help you
good luck
