Cheated by the car broker
I bought a car from a classified in qatarliving. This guy claimed that this car belonged to his sister and showed the car. the car looked good then, the no of kms were showing as 58000 Kms. Testing at Car Max also didnt reveal any major damage.
4 months into its use, its giving me a lot of complaints such as with engine mount, brake pad, brake disc.
I think i was cheated by the broker. Is there a way i can check if the no of kms were tampered??
Thanks all for replying. I am not bothered so much about the brake pads....am more bothered about the engine mounting. Since i made this deal, he hasnt been taking my calls. And the other day, i chatted with him from a differnt username and thats where he revealed that he is a car broker and also an engineer working for al jazeera.he also said that he doesnt have any sister and he just uses it as a ploy to sell the bad deals. I do understand its my mistake to have taken up the deal without a thorough enquiry, but my concern is more with the tampering of the mileage counter. am not sure if it is tampered, i want to confirm if it is. Is there a way to check that?
My Car is Honda City 2007 Model
can you share the link of the advert?
When going through your issues, have realised a few subjects. 1. You haven't mention the make of the car. 2. Model/year of the car. 3. What was the report on car max and what was your concern.
Next, break pads, break drum, etc are the easily burnout parts of any automobile. And its all depends your usage. If you are rash driver/ frequent braking - no sense in it. More than that, the parts cost less compared to other major issues on a vehicle.
Its complaining after 4 months. That means, no other issues on this vehicle rather than the wear and tear parts.
Regarding the sister, have heard about this guy. He is a cheater. Don't believe him. He will not give you his ID/ License. Say my sisters vehicle. He is a cheat. Act as arrogant. Because his intention is wrong.
Note: Always check with the company service centre regarding the chekups. They can help you a lot on check-up than the unknown car experts. Must ask the persons ID copy even its his car or his friends car or sisters car. Its your right.
Well he offered you and you have accepted the offer.
You have to ckeck the history of the car and tested it in the agency so hard luck !!!!
I am so sorry to hear that and nothing can be done!!!
Brother in General, they dint hide anything from you while selling... Normally for second hand car, you have to spend some amount initially for small work. Moreover you have to be very careful with the mechanic here. Most of them they don't know what is the actual problem. Once you give the car to them for checking they will remove all the parts and check, if they could not find whats the actual problem, they will ask you to change some good parts also just to claim their labor charges. Go to some good mechanic, find whats the actual problem, rectify it and drive happily and safely. Dont think about the car seller any more. Now its your own car.. Spend whatever the amount for your life & safe drive...
brake pads/disk, tires, belts and or battery normally wears after sometime. the rate of its wear & tear (of the same), normally varies from person to person.
bought4 months ago? best of luck.
