Any creative way to buy a car without residency permit??

My husband and I have been renting a crappy car for 8 months and paying a ridiculous sum of money month after month for this piece of junk. It has had multiple problems with the AC/ brakes/ makes noise on and on... so when it goe in to get "fixed", we get to drive in a loaner that is somehow crappier than the rental. Its unreal how much we have paid to date for this car. I just don't feel safe in it and would hate to think about how it would hold up in an accident. We would like to buy a car but we don't yet have our residency (another issue that makes my blood boil). Any suggestions from anyone on how best to buy a car despite not having residency is greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading and for any thoughts you may share.

Thanks for your ideas, both if which are good. We are going to ask some friends if they wouldn't mind having the title etc in their name, just as suggested. Hopefully we will obtain residency soon. The company my husband works for doesn't need him to have residency, it doesn't affect them- but it sure is a huge inconvenience for us. Thanks again!

Oh, hon, I'm so sorry for your troubles! What a continued series of annoyances. I've been in Doha about the same length of time you have. The only suggestion I can think of is looking for a used car that someone wants to sell and "renting" it from them until you can transfer the title legally. Hope it's soon!
