Everyone's invited to upcoming anime gathering

For lovers of anime and manga there is exciting news for a meetup this weekend. AnimeQTR is a group set up by three friends who wanted to spread their interest in Japanese Culture to the rest of Qatar.

They have been hosting events and participating in festivals since 2011. Their goal was to create a community that shared the same interest and love for anime that they had.

The organisers are determined to put Qatar on the map in the global anime events schedule. They have arranged many activities which have appealed to a wider range of creative individuals from manga artists, anime and cosplay fans, and gaming enthusiasts.

Their first event took place at Virginia Commonwealth University and attracted over 600 visitors, including special guests such as the Japanese Ambassador. 

They have worked hard to organise another anime gathering for all fans, new and old! This upcoming event has a theme based on the popular anime 'Attack on Titan'.

However there will be many different areas to appeal to all and the organisation is keen to welcome EVERYONE to their upcoming event. They have arranged many activities and contests including anime stores, stage shows, a cosplay competition and a Naruto Competition.

There will also be a gaming corner open for everybody to enjoy, with video games such as Super Smash, Naruto and Mario Kart.

They have also arranged an Art Corner where attendees can bring their own art tools and supplies - they can also take part in the 'Attack on Titan' Art Contest.

The AnimeQTR Gathering takes place on Friday 18th September between 3.00pm and 9.00pm at Al Jassra Club. If you are interested in attending you have to register on their event page - the location map will also be available there.
