waiting and waiting and waiting....

We were suppposed to fly to Doha on 28 Dec 2010 and on 27 Dec we were told the visas were still not ready. Our tickets were confirmed by the Hr department of my husbands company and he was told everything was on track. we were told 2 days max and here we are on the 7th jan 2011 and we are still in SA waiting. We have let our house and sold our car but this does not seem to worry the Hr manager who is the sole cause of delay. How can people let their jealousy get in the way of their job. And this man is head of HR for a such a big company... where did they find him... wandering in the desert?

thanks for the harsh comments guys... first of all the company booked and confirmed the tickets and second of all it is the HR managers fault for not submitting earlier ( he admitted it) Gathering from what i have heard and from what u say it is a different way of life there that we have to get used to. Victoria5518 you are correct - the date given was not possible. As for not resigning... my husband has been there for 3 years already with the company and was there on single status and now given family status. I guess I am just very frustrated at the moment but still very excited to get to Doha- hope it's soon!

Our contract said "Do not resign from your current postion until we (the employer) have provided you with visa and tickets".

It is sad you have rented out your house with out seeing a visa first, but it's not the HR Managers fault.

why always blame HR on this visa delay!!! u should know that its immigration that issue visa and its in their hand how long it will take. if there is no prob. it will only take max of 2 weeks but sometimes prob is there.

mistake is that he had given u a wrong tentative date when it will be ready.

now, no point in moaning...get it done!

Hi,

This is very Sad.

But, why you purchase the tickets & sell all your stuff without VISA in your hand.

I think the fault is yours also.
