visa eligibility

My wife has applied to CNAQ and they require police checks for both of us. I have an impaired driving charge almost 2 years ago and she is clean. Does anone know if they will grant me a visa.
Any info would be appreciated
No problem. Your application for a visa will surely be granted. Driving charges (abroad) are not considered a criminal offense here. They just want to make sure you do not have any criminal background.
If you committed that offense here and you are applying to enter back here, I would say the visa application could be denied.
Thank you. I'm wondering how it is not a criminal offense. From what I read, drinking and driving is severe there, they can fine you, put you in jail, and deport you. With this charge, I now have a crimnal backround in Canada
