Hi

I recently got job offer to work in qatar. Before signing the contract, i am planning to visit Doha to check on the employer and have the opinion of the employees. Can you please tell me:

1. The quickest way to get visit visa.
2. How much money would be enough for 2-3 days in a budget hotel+ food etc.

I have till 25th Aug to reply, so a quick advice is requested.

manivannan, ignore that person.

He's obviously being stupid. He's said 'don't come' which means he's there. If he's had such an issue he would have left right?

And Thamizhan, shame on you for your spam.

@selani, I'm unsure but I think going the online route could be fast.

hotels are kinda of crazy here, average of 150 USD and up going.

the problem if there is an event they will even be booked fully.

your employers sometime have the option of doing it all for free, but will not offer till u ask, however they cam help u with the visa for sure.

second way is coming via Qatar airways package i think it will suite you.

third way is you come via qatar airways, and make your own hotel prep.

finally i think you need at least 150QR per day for food and transportations.

some hotels i know;

mellinium

regency

grand regency

Al-Busta

merwib

Georeg 2

i think movenpick have good prices as well

welcome to doha in advance

Please DON'T come to Qatar.

You must be happy in Bahrain or where ever U R !!!!

This is NOT the right place to LIVE peacefully...

That too with the Family.....?????!!!!!!

Now the cost of living is going higher , higher n higher....day by day

Everyone are MONEY minded, including the government, even though they are getting the FREE OIL from the nature - they don't want to be friendly with the expatriates at all.....

Go to anywhere in the WORLD, but NEVER come to Qatar....

Selani -

YOu have 2 options - either ask ur employer to arrange the visa for you or go via a hotel.

For a hotel - it would just take around 2-3 days. Again depends on the hotel.

THe hotel charges - its crazy out here. Cant predict. Its in the ranges of USD 80 - 200 even for a budget hotel at times. Some of the budget ones are

Doha Palace hotel

Gulf Paradise hotel

Cant recollect more... :-( sorry.. may be some one else can help you on that one.
