Hi QLer's

I'm a Filipino... my company can't book me a hotel in Doha due to UN summit.... all hotels are fully booked till 2nd week of December..... My company informed me that if ever I know someone with a flat or a friend who can look for a place for me then they will issue my airline ticket and I will fly 22nd of this month...or else I will fly on the 3rd week of December (I can't wait that long) does anyone here knows a bedspace that is available on the 22nd? Anyways I will be assigned at City centre mall. Please please I need your help......

Hi, visa processing really depends on the sponsor and their PRO. The first time I left for Qatar through agency only took me total of 1 month from medical to my flight schedule. The visa was processed and released in less than a week time. But the second time (I was released by my former sponsor),It took me almost 5 months to come here in Doha.

Cheers!

hi gaara...i guess where of the same agency...heheh...i am still here in the Phils. I am still waiting for the status of my application..yeah! I also like our agency..they don't collect unnecessary fees like what most agencies are doing...with regards to visa processing in Qatar, it will take from 1-2 months as I have read through other people's comments here...r u still here? hope to see you...hehehe

Thanks for the info ChiChi...

Moanbitz.... are you in qatar right now? All I know is my Agency is the only Agency of QA in the Philippines. So we might have the same agency (if youre agency is in the Philippines).... hehhehehhhe... I like that agency because they keep on bugging the company for my VISA.. hehehhee.... I already contacted the bank I applied and they said that it will take time for the VISA to be issued... they already submitted my papers and is in process... but they don't have definite answer as to when the VISA will be issued...

in my case, i accepted my offer october and flew to Doha December 1st week. It will take a month to have the visa done with all the documentations.

it is possible that processing was on hold for immigration has temporarily stopped hotels and companies to issue visa due to governement events here in Doha and will resume in Dec.

or, the company has no more slots for visa issuance and that they have to wait for availability.

Hi Gaara... actually, I have 3 agencies now..two are for Dammam and the other one (which I like the best) is for Qatar.. I was screwed up by my first agency that's why I have been here for almost 4 months now.. with regards to the job I accepted at Qatar Airways, I have been waiting for more than a month already..are you sure we are of the same agency? :) hehehe...then, I guess both of us will really have to wait..

By gaara• 12 Nov 2008 03:10

Hi Moanbitz. I checked the agency at POEA and there one of the most outstanding agency in the country. Hey How many months have you been waiting? Know what? I guess we have the same agency......

By moanbitz• 11 Nov 2008 13:30
moanbitz

gaara, by what agency are you connected with? you can also check that through POEA. you will know there if the said agency you are in is accredited with the bank who hired you..if they are, then i guess you really have to wait..i also accepted the offer from Qatar Airways but until now i still did not receive any updates..i really am hoping that i could leave the country soon..pray for me guys...thanks!

Question:

How long will I wait for the VISA? any idea?

Depends on how fast the bank's representative to expedite visa from the Labour Dept here, for them to send with your recruitment agency... From time to time, follow up with your Agency.

By gaara• 6 Nov 2008 17:47
gaara

Thanks Vivo. Agency actually informed me that because I accepted the offer from their client (the bank) then I must not apply to other companies (any of their clients). How long will I wait for the VISA? any idea?

By Vivo Bonito• 6 Nov 2008 10:27
Vivo Bonito

Question: If you receive an offer of employment and you accepted it does it mean that you are hired as is?

Yes, you are hired as is. but because expediting such documents that will require you to undergo for the whole process meant tiresome to wait longer than as expected, you can look for some else oppurtunities.

However, that matter must be referred to your local agency who hired you, there is no absolute rule we should have to based on as to wether you can freely accept else job offers.

if they told you YES, then you have to wait.

otherwise, then look for another oppurtunities,

or make a choice whichever comes first or for the later.

Decide only to choices favourable to you...

Thanks Vivo. Actually I was interviewed here in the Philippines by the reps of the bank-. The agency didn’t ask me for any payment so I guess their not illegal whatsoever… According to my contact in the agency the HR personnel of the bank wasn’t doing his job… they have several cases like this and they have to bug the HR personnel in order for the VISAS to be submitted to Qatar labor dept. Were ten Accounting processors and 7 were already issued (on time)… there VISA was released waiting days only… Three of us have been waiting for more than a month now… Question: If you receive an offer of employment and you accepted it does it mean that you are hired as is?

Sorry Treysdad.....

Edward: I will ring you when I get there (if I get there-heheeh).... Thanks....

Good luck hope to see you soon here in Doha.

TANONG MO:

SAGOT:

oras na tinanggap ka na nila by letting you to sign in an EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT. Even after 3 days pwede ka ng maiissuehan ng WORKING VISA.

Ang hindi lang natin cgurado, kung sa TALLY ng NUMBERS OF VISA ALLOWED for a CERTAIN COMPANY, ay over na sila... cgurado yan, it would be a tiring months of waiting bago sila makapag-issue ng panibagong dagdag na VISA para sa mga bagong tanggap na empleyado.

pero nakakapagduda lang dahil ang mga BANCO dito ay halos skylimit yan sila ng allowed numbers of VISA spared for their expanding and growing banking operations.
