hi,

Is there any way to sponsor parents in Qatar ( permanent resident Visa ) as one sponsors wife and kids.

You are allowed to bring in your parents and do not know why people say the opposite. Although it is not an easy process. you have to prove you are responsible for him/her and they have no income in their home country and need you to support them. Although the comment from UK is true unfortunately. It is easier for western countries then others.

1 yr renewable residence visa is the norm here. that also only to the nearest relatives... wife and kids but not parents

There is no such thing as a permanent Visa, every expat in Qatar gets a 3 year renewable visa. Visa for parents depends on your nationality. Parents visiting from European and western countries have no problem with age.

However they are more tough with people from the sub-continent. Dracula is correct with his post above.

As per my knowledge you can only get 6 months visa for your parents, provided they are under 65 years age, then they need to leave Qatar. If you want to bring them again then you need to apply again for their visas.
