Sponsership change/ Secondment
I have been working in a construction company since June 2014 and i have been in Qatar for 6 months only but i have to change my company. Is it possible without completing one year with my present company?
And what is the requirement of SECONDMENT option? Is it also necessary to complete my one year with present company??
Hello there, i need help, i have got a new job offer where i'm trying to transfer, but my current sponsor is not giving me approval to transfer my sponsorship. He said he will only give me secondment, not transfer. Now what should i do? I need to change/transfer this sponsorship for my job. Please help me guys
Also, some of my friends said that if you completed 1 year and has NOC, you can get the sponsorship transferred without an issue (unlike what my admin dept said as mentioned up there).
So better check with them. :)
Hi, There is an option called "Burrowed Visa" for the people who have not completed one year. But it is entirely up to your company to decide whether they will give it to you or not.
What happens is that you can go work for another company, but you will still be under the sponsorship of your current employer.
It is a pretty conflicted subject because different people give different answers.
My personal experience is this.
I completed one year with one company and then I got another job. And my manager was ok with me leaving and issued an NOC. And the Admin department informed me that I don't need to go under Burrowed Visa as I will be joining an NGO and they can transfer the sponsorship directly.
From what I understood, if I joined another private company, I would have to go under Burrowed Visa and after 6 months I can change the sponsorship to the new employer (which makes me stay 1 1/2 years under my current sponsorship)
So the best thing is to talk to your Admin guys and ask whether you can move under Burrowed Visa. If your manager issues you an NOC, the chances are you can move out.

As for the secondment, as far as I know, it should be renewed every 6 months. So, if you have completed 6 months, and you are on secondment and if you have a work visa, if your boss is ok to give you the NOC, you can move out.

It says "The sponsorship law fixed the period of secondment with six months. This period can be extended for a similar period and during this period the sponsoring parties have to amend their situation as the sponsor shall take back his employee to work with him again or approve the transfer of his sponsorship to the employer who borrowed him or other."
Good luck! :)
Same to me.I'm too waiting for comments.
