RP Validity

Dear all

could anybody throw some light on the following as i am very new to Qatar.
My family visa was issued on 21.01.10 and it was stated in the visa Type as Residency Visit Visa and the duration of residency as two years.Once the family arrived here on 29.01.10, we completed all the medical, finger printing formalities and last week my HR dept. gave back all the passports with RP stamped in it. But the validity of the RP and that of my wife's QID is shown as one year.
Is this correct and the regular practice? So, after one year, we have to again go for the medical, finger printing etc.etc..??

Regards

It is normal, you can go to immegration just before the end of this period and renew ur RP, u do not need medical and fingure prints again.
