residence visa for husband
By JulieDecock •
Hi everyone,
I'm about to accept a job offer in Qatar but need some clarification regarding visas first.
My future employer told me they would arrange a visa for both me and my husband.
However, reading on this forum I have seen comments that a wife can not sponsor residence visa for a husband but can only sponsor a visit visa. Is this correct and if so is there any way for me to make sure he can get a residence visa?
Thanks,
Julie
Welcome on QL .. Better join first ... focus on one task at a time ... I'm sure you'll be able to find a way out about your husband's visa .. Good luck & congrats at your new job offer ..
you can sponsor your husband by a family visit, but can only last for up to 6months, after which he needs to exit Qatar and- reapply, im not sure though how long you have to wait for the re- application. you may sponsor him on a resident visa, but i dont think he can work afterwards. male employees here in Qatar always get sponsorship from companies and not from their wives..
oh, and by the way, if they give you a form that says you can sponsor your SPOUSE, it does not count. Make sure they specify you may sponsor your HUSBAND.
I was also "told" by my employer that my husband would be included in the visa but upon arriving here he was not, and despite my salary etc I was not allowed to sponsor him. In order to sponsor him even on a visitor visa you must have your resident permit which can take a few months to obtain, depending on what company you are working for. Coming here and then looking for a job can be a risky and time consuming business. Make sure and even try and get it in WRITING that they will sponsor your husband or allow you to sponsor him.
When your future employer told u they arrange visa for both u and your husband then why r u worried so much. U and your husband will be under their sponsorship. If they r providing a job for your husband also then it is well and good otherwise he can search any job for himself.
Yes they are lot of professional ladies like yourself that are sponsoring their husbands. So should not be problem.
will allow to sponsor husband. Especially in Govt. sector staff. but, I;m not sure about those professions..
He can come on a visit visa first, find a job and change it to work visa/residence visa. You can sponsor your husband if you have a good salary, but he will not be able to work on that Visa.
