ok...thank you for giving valuable information regarding return ticket....thank you Mr. Khan, acchabaccha, Molten metal, ayish, britexpat...
Accha, Travel agent or anybody's wife will see the stars in the noon ......... when she will have to buy a return ticket from the airport ticketing agents on the spot ....... she must be carrying enough cash ......... Caution ..... ! She won't be allowed to approach immigrations counters before she buys a hot return ticket .........
You only need a return ticket for a visit visa which sometimes reads one to three months. In the case of Resident visa, you do not need a return ticket. That is the international immigration standard.
I checked with a travel agent here and there is no need for a return ticket in your case. I stand corrected. My apologies for the incorrect information.
No need return ticket......
Since the duration mentioned in the Visa is for a period of 5 years.
This is not a Visit Visa. But after you take Single Ticket, you need to update the Visa in the Ticket (Called Visa Messaging)
But if the duration mentioned in the Visa is for a period of 1 Month only,
Then in that case it is a Visit Visa. But in this case also after you take Return Ticket, you need to update the Visa in the Ticket (Called Visa Messaging)

Accha is correct. Sachin ......... It's actually not required. But due to personal jealousy of immigration clerks sitting behind the counters .............. they force us to buy the tickets which we won't be using on those proposed dates ............. so they want to throgh some ash in their eyes ........... so don't hesitate .......... just do it .......... buy return ticket ...... it's a formality ........ they want us to do because of the ash in their eyes they can't see that the person does not need to return in the near future ........ they will not allow to board the plane .......... so buy one & get the refund once you reach your destination ............ give them 100 years more to be fair & intellegent ..............
So we have one Yea and one Nae.
This is why I always feel that rather than posting here, why not ask the airline or authorities directly.
Yes, you will need a return ticket. Once you get the ticket, the airline in your city in India will also place a stamp on the ticket "okay to board" without which your family will not be allowed to travel. Check with a travel agent here and they will guide you.
no need return ticket......
