Qatar PR Issues

I have come here on a Business Visa having a United States permanent residency(Green Card) but I am a pakistani national. I am told by my present employer that visa's can take forever sometimes, and specially since I am from Pakistan. I have lived, worked and graduated from US and I am not sure if all this visa fuss is true and if it is, how much is the possibility of visa rejection, if any.

The US, and your green card has nothing to do with your visa here. You're a Pakistani applying for a visa in a position called "X".

This is not the US or Canada, your education, language skills, or lottery numbers :) have nothing to do with it.

the-birdie, it’s not that COMPANY denies or accepts ‘nationality’ or any other aspect… the Government of Qatar, and MOI in particular is the one who makes a decision. and as i said, Government of each country might have its own reasons for either this or that decision..

You can talk to your Company's Mandoob (hope my spelling is correct). Sometimes, immigration give reasons why they reject the visa application process of one company.

inspite of the AMERICAN education, the reason for rejection may be the nationality - PAKISTAN

I heard some companies are denied Paki visas

If you are talking about a work visa, there could be different reasons for rejection: company’s quotas, nationality, security, other subjective issues…

nothing is guaranteed here..

but I wouldn’t call it “visa fuss”.. it’s still much easier to get a visa here than in US…

and anyway every country has its own rights/reasons to let any person into the country or not… has nothing to do with your ‘american education and work experience’...
