Old work visa and reissued passport

I got my work visa from the employer in Doha. But Immigration officers detained me at the airport as my passport was categorised as ECR instead ECNR.. so they objected me travelling and asked me to either get the passport as ECNR or get stamped from POE.. BUT POE process a huge and time delay, am suggested to apply for reissuance of passport in tatkal with cancellation of ECR as the reason. Now, can i travel with that new passport on the old visa details. My agent here says, there will be endorsement by the passport authority about the old passport details and on the new one and so i can travel with it.. Plz help me.I have validity for my visa...
