I got my sister a visa which is under my sponsorship, she is currently on a family visit visa, which is they said good for 6 months. But the immigration told us to renew it monthly and not allowed to renew it for six months straight. And when renewing it i have to show a printed plane ticket back home. But when i renewed it this month, they only gave my sister a 2 weeks visa extension.

My question is can i get a residence visa for my sister? If so, what are the requirements needed? If not, can i get her a tourist visa after leaving Qatar? I hope you can help us regarding this matter.

Thanks in advance. :)

How long has she been here? Yes, previously you can sponsor your sister for 6 months but now they only give 3 months and renewable every month for one month only.

Like my experience, i got mom's visit visa under my husband's sponsorship (approved 3 mos only). 3 Months was already noted when I applied for it so i knew about it already. Before her 1st month ended, I had her gone through a medical exams then extended for 2 months (total of 3 months) I came back and tried for another extension, got lucky to be given one month providing them the Ticket. (that's her 4th month). Just last week, i got approval from the manager for another month,(5th month) but again i need to provide ticket.

I will again try for her 6th month hoping to get the approval.

You can try the same I did. Maybe you get lucky too. Note:She's my mom but under my husband's sponsorship.

family visa means for blood relatives only (dad, mom, children and wife). You can only extend ur sister's visa for 3 months and not 6.

for rp, Aladdin has already answered.
