i am 16weeks pregnant
i am 16weeks pregnant but i have not had my medical yet do you think this will affect my residence permit processing? i just started with my new job but i didn't tell my employer about my situation, can you see this as a reason for me to be terminated or rejected if my employer will find out soon that i am pregnant?
thanks everybody for your enlightening comments and replies. i just had my check up everything is normal so far. as for my new employer they are giving me until next week to process my husband sponsorship i think its better to have husbnad's vis athan under their sponsorship on my situation right now. i dont know when teh result of the visa will come out. can you tell me please how long is the usual processing of husband sponsorship? i only have a week to process it... do u think ill get it by next week if the PRO or mandup will send it to immigration on sunday?
If you are single, you have lost the job anyway, if you are married you don't have the job either, what company would wish to have someone who will be taking a bunch of time off due to an unplanned pregnancy.
On the good side, enjoy your new blessing and be a good mother to it. I hope it is healthy.
You should tell your employer as soon as possible and if he/she is understanding they would still go ahead with the visa formalities.
On ther other hand I personally suggest not telling them and let them proceed with the visa formalities. And when they get the visa let them know about it. Then they would not be in any position to create problems.
I remember reading somewhere that Qatar Labor Laws state that the pregnant woman is entitled to two months paid leave. You can send a query to the Gulf Times and hopefully you will get the answer very soon.
In any case I wish your upcoming baby is healthy happy intelligent and gets the utmost care...
I agree with diamondgirl, most of the women I've known who wear hijab and niqab are very understanding and quite broad-minded when it comes to discussing issues. The women I've known have been very intelligent and quite capable of discussing and debating issues that don't even directly affect them.
Just because they choose to do some things (i.e. covering themselves) and perhaps choose not to do others (such as drinking or engaging in intimate relations), that doesn't mean they're not aware of the issues or even judgemental about people who don't live the same lifestyle.
Just because a woman chooses to wear hijab or abaya and cover her hair/body, that doesn't mean she covers her brain as well.
Oryx, please don't hold back with your medical queries based on what a person chooses to wear. Most people in the medical profession would try to answer your questions I believe on alcohol and intimate issues relating to a sex life regardless of your marital status. You have nothing to be scared of in asking a question.
You will probably have a problem, if not with your company then with the government.
All The Best
Take care. Nothing is important then your baby and your health.
Regards

Honestly, I think you should say something. Hopefully you won't loose your Job. Am pregnant myself and told my employers when I was 7 weeks pregnant.
Apple is right it won't affect your RP processing; you are only required to do the blood test during your Medical etc.
Good luck, I hope it all goes well.
just pretend you didn't know.
as long as you aren't vomiting on your bosses desk every morning - should be ok.
i had a friend who was 7 months 'with the bread in the oven' before she knew.
so she only had 2 months to prepare for pending sproggy
Actually are you single my dear sly?
going to the doctor here - i went to a good doctor but she was in full ninja kit - how can i ask her can I have a glass of wine if I take this medicine?
she ticks the 'not married' box - so then they don't ask and you can't ask about any 'initmite issues' when seeing the gyno.
all depends if you are single.
If you are single and sponsored by the Company..then I think it will be a problem.
It wont affect your RP processing, you are only required to do the blood test during your Medical, you are exempted from the Chest X-ray exam, just inform the nurse/doctor that you are pregnant.
Re your questions of being terminated or rejected from your job, well, it depends on your employer, but better inform them the earliest and be honest w/ them about your situation, that would make them trust you more.
