Currently Im not getting a total of my 2 month salary.Im planning also to resign but Im afraid that they will cancel my working visa and will be ban for many years. How can I transfer to another company still here in qatar. Can I file a complaint to the ministry of labor and how? Please help me in this matter

Thanks for all your replies, appreciate it. I hope my case will not happen to other expatriates whose main goal here is to make his/her family to have a better life. Lessons learned, let karma do its way upon them.

I know it's difficult if you have not been paid your salary for 2 months. Going to the labour department is a good idea but then it could also cost you your job and the company can terminate your appointment and return you back to your coutry.

I believe the law states that you have to work with your company for 2 years before asking for a release. Be careful how you go about it as some companies do not really like giving release.

You may not have a choice in that, some companies will ask that you immediately transfer sponsorship as they then can use the allocated visa that your on for someone else.

I would also be very careful about changing your sponsorship especially if you have only been working there for less than a year and you have signed a contract, while most employers will say they are happy to release you to another company some will cancel your visa with out telling you and when your new company applies for one for you, they will be stuck with a huge fine and you'll be deported very unceremoniously out of the country and have even heard of cases were they will ask you to pay for the remaining months left in your contract.. It's the way here.

"Your born, You Live, You Die, given this premise, one can conclude since we have no control over when we are born and when we die, the only thing that matters to us should be how we live, simple really?" Mis-Cat to her philosophy Lecturer.

Thanks for the reply, Iam hired locally because I came through a business visit visa. I have a company that is willing to hire me in case that I would be released. Question also if ever I was released should I wait for 1 year to change sponsor? Thanks again

This is called no other than modern slavery....

These companies want to use you. They make you work and at the end they don't pay your salary.... and once you ask them release they don't give you too.... and governments still protect companies....

You even cannot leave the country and runaway... because you need letter at airport.... this is like slave in a jail.

May ALLAH bless Muslim and Give Hidhayah... before it becomes late. Tell me any non-Muslim country doing same to its workers which we (Muslims ) are doing......

My friend you better ask your management regarding your situations...talked to them as polite...and as much as you can..i know your situations is really in trouble..but company like this you should get out as much as you can...but don't be hurry...try to get first sympathy and make sure they understand what you want....that time try to ask for a release but before this... make sure also that you have some..or another company that they will help you meaning they will hire you.if your situation got more in trouble then go to labor department and file a complain...but remember never tell or give a resignation...because once you did...you probably knows what gonna happen....good luck and god bless you kabayan!!!! i was on ur situations 4 years ago...and im still here....
