hy, I was talking about when they don't sponsor you, you're on a businss visa or something ...

3- They tell you that you weren't good enough, bye, bye...

a) if you're 'locally hired', they have the easy chance to tell you bye-bye without you getting any benefits.

b) if you're hired from your country, either they'll let you finish the yearly resident visa 'til you quit or you'll have to pay for the visa if you resigned in less than a year from the start of your work...because the sponsor is usually afraid of letting an employee go home within the probation period as because they have a lot to pay and process in several Qatar labour and immigration departments...so, uhh, they'll let the employee pay for it (Sucks for those cheating sponsors!!).

Hence a lot of unprofessionals are stuck in plenty of companies in Qatar. Sponsors don't know how to use the 'probation period' wisely.

regarding your inquiries

1) If it is Visit Visa or Business Visit, the duration of the visa is within 1 month only. Make sure the the ticket they provide is a two way ticket (computed from date of entry until 1 month, that corresponds to your visa, so that in the airport verification there will be no problem with the immigration)

2) After 3 months they sign, because you have to undergo series of test, X-ray, blood group, blood test. (But make it clear my dear because there are new rules here in Qatar that Visit visa to be converted in Working Visa must be processed as soon as possible within that 1st month of entry or else you go to jail.)

3) In signing your contract these are the hints. Make sure that the company who sponsors you are the one's stated in the contract ex. 1st Party Company, 2nd Party Employee "You". Qatar Labour Law 14 2004 article 38-39

4) Make sure that your basic salary and the date of your salary is stated because there is a lack of specific date of salary article 65-66 of the same law.

Please try to read this okay,

I hope it can help you.

Be careful... It could go like this...

1- You come here alone, live in their provided accommodation and with a "testing-period" salary of QR1000 (should be enough for your food...), with the promise that in three months, if you prove yourself, you'll get the contract signed, full salary and you can bring your family...

2- You work like a #$%^& for 85 days.

3- They tell you that you weren't good enough, bye, bye...

4- They bring in somebody else with the same scam...

Hey buddy...

I understand your concern but to be honest it actually depends on what kinda company you're talking about... A Big Reputed firm or a Private company...depending on that you could make your decision...

When I was hired, I came here and THEN signed the contract...and then 1 copy to the ministry, 1 to the company and 1 to you is given AFTER all THREE OF THEM have been Signed and Stamped by the Ministry...

So do let know which company are we talking about for a better picture...!!!

You should have a contract, signed by both parties, one copy sent to the ministry, and this contract can state that there is a 3-months probation period. Without a contract I would not move my little finger!

i'm in-between jobs at the moment and interviewing. my experience with working here is that the 3 months is a probation period to protect you AND the employeer. it's a good thing incase you or they decide that it's not going to work out. after 3 months and you and they can see if everyone has been honest about pay, work experience, things that have been promised. then sign away.

good luck!
