if my husband applies a family visit visa or a plain visit visa for me and my son, do we need to have our visa authenticated by qatar embassy- phils?

Yes, once the visa is approved in the system of ministry of interior you have to print it and send it to qatar embassy in the phils via dhl with 2-2x2 picture with white background it will come back to you after 5-7 days with visa sticker stamp at your passport then your sponsor have to get affidavit of support from phil embassy in doha then send original to you and you are all set to go. .
