In hotels there is a saying, Sell it today, not tomorrow. The previous day’s revenue you will never catch up as far as the rooms or properties are concern. Another product can be sold on a different day as long as you have expiry. But not the rental apartment or units.
However I cannot see none of the property owners or sellers following this. I use to go many places in Doha, due to my Job assignment & every corner there is board writing Flat/Room/Family room / Bed space for rent.
Now a days, I see in many light post’s there are advertisement paste on A4 papers relevant to rent.
In my opinion there is a dramatic drop about the demand for housing and looks like it’ll continue. A clever real estate owner will fluctuate the prices and get the tenants in. Doesn’t looks like at the moment.
We call this situation as grab the existing business. As long as you don’t have more movement from out of the country, there is a situation rise to compete with your competitor. The best way is to lower the rents and make more comfort to the tenants. Get the people In.
I hope this situation will benefit the tenants sooner or later as we have already experienced about the related real estate’s issues over the years. I hope the time has risen for the benefit of Tenants. In Sha Allah.
