I can recommend Minang (Indonesian restaurant) and Thai Snack if you want to try other SEA restaurants in Doha. I think the main branch of Minang is near Souq Waqif, pass the Royal hotel on Al Asmakh Street. Thai Snack at Al Mirqab Al Jadeed Street, just off the C Ring Road. Hopefully no similar incidents there.
