RyanCanuck - don't listen to Zanzibar! They are just teasing you. The Waterhole is a notorious bar for picking up ladies of the night. I'm pretty clueless about the Chinese community here - I'm sure there is one somewhere. I think it's a great idea for her to look beyond this and get into the international mix too - it's just it can be scary moving to a new place, let alone if you don't speak the lingo.... So yeah ESL is a good place to start. I'd advise trying to find out as much as possible about who will actually be teaching her the course before you book anything. I've worked in a couple of language schools here and let's just say the standards can *ahem* vary...
