I also fly on August 31st with my husband and son but we are going via Amsterdam then spending the night in Doha. We are picking up a hire car in Doha on the Saturday before driving to Al Khor.

I am really looking forward to the new challenges of the job but currently my mind is firmly fixed on the summer holidays and my impending M.Ed thesis part 1 which is due before I leave!!!

The guy from housing told me about the furniture allowance getting paid with the salary in September! My buddy also teaches in year 2 as does a previous contact from many years ago. I'm teaching in year 4 but my buddy has a son the same age as my son and they are going into year 7.
