Okay I got it Cherukkan... basically, to be entitled I had to be in the payroll during  that period.

Guess I have to accept the sad reality that i took the leave 'cause of the celebration and got deducted for it instead.

Actually it was not the money I felt bad about, it was more for the lack of 'spirit' that there is no exception even for that special once or twice a year occasion.........
