Depends what car and quality you're looking for to be honest. There are plenty of 'local' car rentals, but 9/10 you'll get a car with a crap interior and probably smelling of stale cigarettes. On the flip side, you'll get a decent price.
Personally, I've always gone for the international brands and have never had an issue. If you'll commit to 12 months+ then they'll probably give you a new car. Most are attached to a sponsors brand etc Hertz are Almana who have the rights for Peugeot, Ford, Chevy. Also try Eurodollar (Seat), National (Renault). They all do the standard Nissan Tida's, Honda City's as well I think. Shop around!
