Different parents have different perception about what is right for their kids, so they choose the schools accordingly. You conclude that Indian parents choose western curriculum over Indian as it is not globally competitive, --------

((When given a choice many Indians choose a Western or international (read Western) curriculum. Westerners, when given a choice, do not choose the Indian curriculum. Given this fact, it would suggest that the Indian curriculum needs serious improvement in order to be globally competitive. This is not much different than what a number of posters have already written.)))-----

This is misinterpretation. Other posters are suggesting ALL curriculum need change (whether Indian or western)with time. All over the world in every school there are same topics taught. There is not much of a difference. The difference lies in evaluating the child . Indian curriculum lacked a proper system of evaluation but it has incorporated a lot of changes recently. Anyways, education alone can not create the likes of Amartya Sen and CV Raman.
My point is íf most people buy a certain brand soap (say "soap A") and some people feel that it is 'The Best' the brand "soap B" does'nt automatically becomes 2nd grade.
